Brass Finger Extension – The Worry-Free Way To Touch Any surface

By Jeffrey Hennings a day ago

“Keep safe from COVID-19: How this tool lets you open any door or surface without you actually touching it”

Staying safe from harmful germs is now more important than ever. Keeping your hands clean is vital, but what would you do when soap and water or hand sanitizers are not within reach?

Some products can make staying hygienic easier.

WavCare promises their Brass Finger Guard can help you touch surfaces without reaching for the hand sanitizer every time.

What is it?

Wavcare Brass Finger Guard is a handy tool that you can use to make contact with germ-ridden surfaces – like doors, ATM screens or even elevator buttons.

But so what? There are alternatives that can accomplish the same thing, such as a pen…good question.

On top of being ergonomically designed to open and poke things, Wavcare claims their tool can kill germs naturally without you needing to wash it or clean it. Can a pen accomplish that?

We were skeptical, so we began investigating further into what exactly Wavcare Finger Guard is and what it can really do.

How does it work?

It works exactly as the name suggests, the Wavcare Finger Guard acts as a guard for your finger, or so they claim.

It’s designed to act as a barrier that prevents your skin from making contact with any surface you use it on –  such as doors , ATM, elevator buttons, the list goes on.

Instead of having your fingers touch those filthy surfaces, you can use the brass guard to make contact. Then the antimicrobial properties of the Finger Guard begins hacking away at the nasty bacteria and viruses.

I was impressed by the natural germ killing feature, but there is more than just that:

Solid DesignThe design of the tool makes it easier to pull on a door handle by hooking on to it. It’s easy to grip so it won’t slip out.

Capacitive – The Finger Guard will work on touch screens

✅ Carbiner– It comes with a carbiner (retractable hook) so you don’t end up contaminating your pockets while the material on the finger guard is working its microbe killing magic

Antibacterial – Germs will die shortly after making contact with the Finger Guard

Premium Material – The Finger Guard is made from a solid piece of brass, very durable. It won’t break when pulling a door.

Easy To Use – The Finger Guard is easy to operate, small in size, easy to carry, and very safe, very comfortable to use. Hold on one side and make the other one side touch contaminated surfaces

What do people have to say about it?

“It’s hard not to touch certain surfaces instinctively, and it’s annoying and frustrating to keep track of all the things I might touch, and I probably shouldn’t have to because of the pandemic,” said David, 26 years old, a UPS driver. As you can imagine, David has to open a lot of doors and just can’t avoid exposing himself to harmful pathogens.

“The Finger Guard was a no-brainer for me, and it’s made my life much easier. What’s funny is that a few of my co-workers and even my boss end up getting Finger Guards for themselves”

“It’s hard not to touch certain surfaces instinctively…”

“I used to empty a 50 ml bottle of hand sanitizer in two days. My skin was dry and almost bleeding. And applying sanitizer every time I’d touch a new surface at the office was exhausting,” describes Linda, a 30-year-old financial analyst.

“When it comes to surfaces like door handles, elevator, ATM, elevator buttons, refrigerators’ handles at grocery stores, and even your car’s door, it is almost impossible not to touch them, right?

It seems like the hook  that got people to use the Finger Guard is similar – the convenience. Is it worth asking yourself if opening this door is worth contaminating your sleeve, jacket, scarf, purse?

Curious about the WavCare Brass Finger Guard, we reached out to the experts:

We were skeptical when we learned of Wavcare’s claim about how germs died on contact with the Finger Guard.

So we did a little research of our own.

“What it came down to is copper” said Jenna Holmes, Head Virologist Researcher from University of Virginia. “Brass has been used for it’s anti microbial properties for more than a millennia”

What? A millennia? That’s quite a claim! Jenna let out a quick laugh at my comment.

“Past civilizations were more advanced than we give them credit for” she explains, “Egyptians used brass to sterilize chest wounds and drinking water. Greeks, Romans and Aztecs relied on brass compounds to treat burns, headaches and ear infections”

Brass contains ions that destroy living cells, including bacteria, fungi, and spores, and it is self-sterilizing. When these cells meet the brass surface, a chemical reaction happens and weakens the membrane of the cells, shutting them down little by little until they’re dead.

Conclusion: Is it worth it?

Absolutely yes!

Instead of using your fingertips, your knuckles, or your sleeves to touch different surfaces, this antibacterial finger guard lets you open doors, push buttons, and more without touching any surface directly.

What Others are Saying... (verifield buyers)

Super helpful, bought this so that I could avoid touching the pin pads at checkout. These are really well-made and came quickly! I originally bought two for myself and mom and then placed another order for my boyfriend.

  • Patricia

I love door opener tool! First of all, it keeps my hands clean and that means less drying them out with hand sanitizer. Second, it is easy to use on everything from low-profile door handles (my 1 year old Camry above) to store door handles.

  • Jacob

Love this product. Works great on touchscreens, keypads, buttons, and some doors. It is also lightweight. Added protection against germs. A must buy!

  • Nick

This would be a great gift! When you get home, toss it through the dishwasher for super sterilization! Can’t wait to use these out in public.

  • nasm

I realized that the elevators probably spread the most germs. Everybody needs to touch the buttons. I have seen some more expensive products similar to this (for almost 5 x the price) and wanted to try it. For the price of this, it is well worth it. I use this everyday and avoid touching things that I normally would have to like the elevator buttons, atms and door access codes. I do clean this tool daily with a lysol wipe.

  • Serena

I like this no-touch tool given the circumstances. I have used it to open store doors and keep it separate from my keys so I am able to disinfect it once I am finished. I feel safer using this than my hands when I have it go out. I would definitely recommend having one of these.

  • Sarah

I really like this item saves me from touching those nasty public door handles. Very sturdy and lightweight. Love it!!

  • Jolene

    Good for contactless use
